FC Isle of Man is absolutely delighted to announce that it has accepted Guernsey FC’s kind invitation to travel to the Channel Islands on September 12 for a rematch of the two club’s match at the Bowl recently.
Again, both clubs are thankful that the ‘air corridor’ recently introduced by the authorities of the respective islands has provided an opportunity for this fixture to be played.
FC Isle of Man won a close and competitive fixture in Douglas on August 15, and the Lions will be looking to turn the tables on the Ravens at their Footes Lane home.
Although both clubs are still waiting for confirmation when their respective league systems will start, this is an excellent opportunity for both teams to play another friendly fixture in preparation for the season ahead. Especially so for FC Isle of Man who, at time of writing, are scheduled to play an FA Vase qualifying round the following week.
Chris Bass, FC Isle of Man Team Manager stated:
I am absolutely delighted and excited at the opportunity to play Guernsey FC once again and in such short space of time as well. We are all incredibly grateful to them for inviting us.
It was a very good game at the Bowl last week and I was delighted with our performance so I am really interested to see if our lads can maintain that level in this return fixture.
Frank Jones, FC Isle of Man Captain added:
It’s amazing that that the opportunity to play Guernsey FC again has come round so quick. Also, It’s a really important chance for both clubs to prepare for the season ahead.
It was a great feeling to put the FC Isle of Man shirt on for the first time against them last week and I am looking forward to the opportunity of doing it again.
Nic Legg, Guernsey FC Director stated:
After the friendships we made in the Isle of Man we couldn’t wait to welcome the Ravens to Guernsey and hope that, just like the Manxies did, Guernsey FC fans will turn out in numbers to make it a celebration of our club’s first home game since February.
