After a disappointing few weeks of results FC Isle of Man are looking for a turn in form when they return to The Bowl this Saturday to face Kendal Town.
Last time out they suffered a 3-1 defeat to a high flying Padiham side with Jack McVey scoring the only Ravens goal from the penalty spot in the 86th minute of play. Hear the post match reaction from Manager Paul Jones & Club Captain Frank Jones below.
We look forward to welcoming Kendal Town and their fans to The Bowl for just the second time. They last visited on the 7th January, a game that ended 3-1 to the visitors. We can expect goals with the last four Ravens game ending with 2 or more goals and the last 26 Kendal Town games! The previous two matches between FC Isle of Man and Kendal Town have averaged 4.5 goals with both teams scoring on both occasions.
Squad News
Once again there are some enforced changes to the squad this weekend. Jamie Corlett was shown a red card in the last few minutes of the game vs Padiham FC so is serving a suspension. Alex Maitland & Dean Leece unfortunately both got injured in the game so are unavailable. Jack McVey is also abscent as he is unavailable for selection this weekend.
These changes see the return of Callum Sherry, Ronan McDonnell, Michael Williams & Ryan Burns.

The history of our opposition (Kendal Town)
The present Club was originally formed as Netherfield AFC in 1919 when employees at K Shoes Netherfield factory were encouraged to form a football team. They were provided with land near to the factory at Parkside and began to compete in local leagues. In 1925 the team achieved its first notable success winning the Westmorland County Cup.
The club then played in the local leagues like the North Lancashire and West Lancashire league before the outbreak of the 2nd World War.
In 1945 the club joined the semi-professional ranks becoming a member of the Lancashire Combination League. Two Championship Titles came their way in 1949 and 1965. FA Cup success was quickly becoming a tradition having 5 appearances in 8 years in the 1st Round of the FA Cup with club’s best run was in 1963/64 reaching the 2nd Round against Football league side Chesterfield.
The club changed its name to Netherfield Kendal in 1998 and changed its name to Kendal Town in 2000.

Golden Goal
Each ticket for golden goal costs just £2 and contains a concealed minute, if the goal is scored in the minute you have then you have won! The winner will be announced over the PA when the first goal of the game is scored. The winner will receive £90!
A Pound for the Ground
New to FC Isle of Man and currently on a trial basis is a pound for the ground! The tickets are just £1 each and the winner takes 40% of sales. This operates like a tombola, where for each £1 you get a ticket with a unique number on. It is then drawn from the Ravens tombola box at half time.
Catering
We will have both Douglas Pizza Company and Prep Fresh at the ground on Saturday to keep you watered and fed! Douglas Pizza Company will be offering hot dogs, tea, coffee and confectionary. Prep Fresh will be offering brisket baps, tea, coffee and confectionary.
