New Board Appointments

FC Isle of Man is pleased to announce a series of important updates that support the next phase of our long-term strategy and reaffirm the values on which this club was built.

A Club Built for the Island

FC Isle of Man was created with a clear purpose: to provide Manx players with a pathway, to unite our community through football, and to represent the spirit, pride and identity of the Isle of Man on a wider stage.

From day one, the club has been driven by volunteers, supporters, families and partners who believe in what football can do for our island—not just on the pitch, but in the lives of people across our community.

As we move into the next phase of our development, that founding purpose remains unchanged. In fact, it has never been more important.

David Pope Appointed Chair

To support the club’s continued growth and strengthen its governance, we are delighted to confirm the appointment of David Pope as Chair of FC Isle of Man.

David has played a key role in shaping the club’s strategic direction and brings significant commercial experience, leadership expertise and a deep understanding of the club’s purpose and community impact.

David said:

“This club was built by the island, for the island, and that purpose remains at the heart of everything we do. Our strategy is about strengthening the structures around the club, deepening our connection with the community, and creating opportunities for Manx players to thrive. FC Isle of Man has achieved so much in a short period of time, and I am excited to work alongside Russ, the Board, our volunteers and supporters to help guide the club through its next chapter while remaining true to the values on which it was founded.”

As Chair, David will lead the Board, oversee governance and support the development of the club’s long-term strategy, ensuring FC Isle of Man remains true to its purpose, values and responsibilities to the Isle of Man community.

Russ Kent Appointed Chief Executive Officer

We are equally pleased to confirm the appointment of Russ Kent as Chief Executive Officer of FC Isle of Man.

Russ brings extensive financial, operational and organisational experience and has been instrumental in helping establish strong foundations for the club’s future growth.

Russ said:

“FC Isle of Man was created to give our island a clear pathway for our players and an opportunity to play at the highest level achievable. I view the club as a source of pride for our community and one that promotes and reflects the values of the Isle of Man.

“As Chief Executive Officer, my focus is on ensuring we build sustainably, responsibly and with the long-term health of the club at the centre of every decision. We owe it to our supporters, volunteers and players to protect what makes this club special while giving it the foundations to grow. I am proud to help lead the next chapter.”

As Chief Executive Officer, Russ will lead the day-to-day operations of the club and be responsible for implementing the strategy agreed by the Board, overseeing commercial development, financial management and organisational performance.

Leadership for the Future

Working alongside the Board, volunteers, supporters and partners, David and Russ will provide strong governance and executive leadership to ensure FC Isle of Man continues to grow as a sustainable, ambitious and community-focused football club.

Looking Ahead

We would like to thank our supporters, volunteers, players, partners, sponsors, stakeholders and the wider Manx football community for their continued belief in what this club can achieve. Your support is the heartbeat of FC Isle of Man.

With renewed leadership, a clear strategy and a shared commitment to our founding values, we look forward to the next chapter—together.
