Squad news: Super Saturday – Altrincham and Shifnal Town friendlies

Manager Chris Bass must find it challenging enough narrowing down one match day squad for each game, but this weekend he and coach Lee Dixon have had to name two squads as the Ravens face a unique double-header pre-season day.

Up first tomorrow we play National League side Altrincham FC at 15:00 in what is sure to be a great test against opposition who ply their trade some four steps higher than the Ravens.

Then we have a chance to rotate and try different options when play the Midland League Premier Division’s Shifnal Town FC at 18:30.

Fans of Dan Simpson will be pleased to see that he is now back and in contention, along with Ryan Burns, however Sean Doyle are Ste Whitley are both unavailable this weekend.

While the squad to face Altrincham is understandably a strong one, the squad to face Shifnal Town presents the opportunity for some younger players such as Tiernan Garvey, Blake Henwood and Jack Higgins to impress.
