Following significant developments over the past 12 hours, FC Isle of Man is pleased to confirm that our final League fixture of the season against West Didsbury and Chorlton will now take place at The Bowl on the Isle of Man, kicking off at 18:00.
This outcome has been made possible thanks to the willingness of all parties to work collaboratively under difficult circumstances. After yesterday’s results confirmed the fixture would need to be played on neutral ground in the North West, the NWCFL board reconvened late last night and again early this morning to explore potential solutions after concerns were raised by clubs.
Together with representatives from West Didsbury and Chorlton, we have held extensive talks aimed at prioritising the interests of supporters.
Our shared aim throughout has been to act in the best interests of the fans. We know how much this fixture means to both sets of supporters and we were fully committed to finding a way to keep the game at The Bowl, if we could. Thanks to the co-operation of all involved, we are delighted this has been achieved.
We also look forward to welcoming what is expected to be a travelling contingent of around 300 away fans. We are confident that the atmosphere at The Bowl will be a fitting setting for what is set to be an important and exciting fixture in the play-off race.
We understand the uncertainty of the past 12 hours has caused some frustration and we sincerely thank all supporters for their patience and understanding.
Finally, we extend our thanks once again to the NWCFL and West Didsbury and Chorlton for their cooperation and goodwill throughout the process.
