Week 12 Preview – Barnton FC

Fast and furious the fixtures come, and tonight the Raven’s make a whistle-stop trip to Cheshire to take on Barnton FC at their Townfield Lane stadium.

Our Opponents

The Villagers are a long-standing club in the Cheshire region, being formed in the aftermath of World War II. They were founder members of the Mid-Cheshire league and they were ultimately promoted to the North West Counties League in 2013. In their first season they were promoted to the Premier Division before being relegated back to Division One in 2018.

Barnton’s start to the season was somewhat fraught as they lost their first five games, but they fought back with three straight wins of their own to start climbing the table. They have since had two further wins and two losses, one of which was in their last fixture at Cheadle Heath Nomads on October 2nd. They currently sit 13th in the league on 15 points.

FC Isle of Man Team News

As this is a mid-week fixture inevitably some players are not available because of work commitments, but the squad looks as if it will remain largely unchanged from the weekend’s comprehensive victory at Eccleshall with the addition of Michael Williams who missed the weekend’s match through injury.
