“Someone should create a football team based on the Isle of Man to play in an off-Island league.”
How many times has this aspiration been uttered throughout the ages of Manx football, but never come to pass?
Well, this time someone did.
At 2pm on 31st of July 2021, three years of blood, sweat and tears, late nights and early mornings, unwavering generosity and sheer determination came to fruition:
FC Isle of Man kicked off their first ever league game in the NWCFL against Maine Road FC!
We’ve now played 7 games – won twice, lost twice and drawn three times scoring 16 goals in the process.
We currently sit 14th in the table with at least two games in hand all while not yet being able to host a home game.
All of us involved have been genuinely buoyed by the support of you, our fans.
Whether you’re on the Island, you’ve travelled to a game or you’re supporting from afar: THANK YOU!
